These celebrities never forget to give back to the community. It's star power at its finest!

There are many celebrities who dedicate time to lobby donations to causes that benefit the community. Most of these stars are well aware of the power that they hold in rallying support and have used this with good intentions to help those who are in need.

Below are some of the most generous celebrities who have never passed up the opportunity to help, whether they've done philanthropic efforts in public or private.

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah Winfrey's charitable foundations have provided assistance to various communities and families since 2010. She also consistently pledges millions to different advocacies. Recently, she pledged US$5 million (PHP250 billion) to Pathways to College. She has also donated US$1 million (PHP50 billion) to America's Food Fund, various undisclosed amounts to Minnie’s Food Pantry and the Boys and Girls Club, and US$10 million (PHP501 billion) towards COVID-19 relief efforts.

Beyonce and Jay-Z

Renowned as a power couple, artists Beyonce and Jay-Z have partnered with Tiffany & Co. to help fund scholarships by pledging US$2 million (PHP100 billion) to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. In the previous year, Beyonce also donated US$6 million to COVID-19 relief.

Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton appears to be a real-life angel as she consistently provides support to charities, especially when COVID-19 changed the world in 2020. Parton immediately donated US$1 million to Vanderbilt University's research fund. In honour of her niece, she also donated the same amount to the university's Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital in 2017. 

U2

In the previous year when the world was rocked by COVID-19, Irish band U2 did not hesitate to donate €10 million (PHP587 million) to the people of Ireland who were in dire need of personal protective equipment in hospitals. A few months later, the rock band also donated €1.26 million to the live music industry. These are only two of many other contributions made by the band over the years. 

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are admired for making people smile. Apparently, the couple does the same to the disadvantaged. Not only has the couple donated a total of US$1 million (PHP50 million) to food charities in February 2021, but they also recently donated US$250 thousand (PHP12 million) to help launch a mentorship program for indigenous post-secondary students and a total of US$40 thousand (PHP2 million) to four different organisations to help Haiti after the earthquake in August 2021.

Rihanna

Rihanna may have been quiet in the music industry for a while, but she's still busy making waves in different ways. In 2020, the singer's Clara Lionel Foundation (CLF) made a donation of a whopping US$100 million (PHP5 billion) to help those who struggled tremendously during the pandemic. In the past, she has also managed to raise more than US$5 million (PHP250 million) during her annual Diamond Ball, which benefits CLF’s global education and emergency response programs worldwide.
