Regional Sales Manager / Director (Hong Kong)

Primary Function

Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, this position will be part of the commercial sales team to drive and grow the business of our luxury magazines, digital platforms, and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • To act as the primary commercial lead on key categories, servicing all clients within these categories, working with the relevant editor, staying on top of industry knowledge and trends, and supporting the sales teams in Tatler’s other markets on the development of these categories
  • Secure and manage advertising campaigns both locally and internationally
  • Establish senior-level relationships with key and prospective clients
  • To establish and enhance client contacts and relationships
  • Account management of a portfolio of high-end advertisers
  • To achieve the brand, business and profitability objectives of print, digital, and events
  • To formulate and implement sales and pagination strategies
  • Working closely with the editorial team, identify product development opportunities to ensure our products are relevant and competitive
  • Work closely with sales and marketing teams on business opportunities and market intelligence
  • Provide regular business reports, analysis and recommendations to management
  • Selling integrated partnerships to new and existing clients, across print, digital, social and events
  • Managing integrated partnerships full cycle, from idea conception to project completion
  • Contribute to the development and position of new integrated sales opportunities
  • Lead the commercial side of at least three supplements or projects over the year
  • Represent Hong Kong Tatler at industry, client and VIP events

Requirements:

  • University degree
  • Proven track record in achieving business objectives and profitability targets
  • Minimum 4 years for sales manager / 6 years for sales director in media sales experience, preferably in luxury lifestyle media
  • Very strong knowledge of the luxury sector, including fashion, watches, and jewelry
  • Experience in digital sales is a must
  • Self-motivated and strong presentation skills
  • Proactive and result-oriented, with sound commercial acumen and business development mindset
  • Can-do attitude
  • Ability to work independently and effectively
  • Strong interpersonal and client management skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Good knowledge of and strong network with luxury watch brands essential
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential, and Chinese is highly preferable
  • Sound computer skills
  • Thorough understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, including display, native, video, and social
  • Entrepreneurial attitude towards proactive pitches, including integrated partnerships, keeping the long term brand relationship in mind
  • Proven success in selling, implementing and managing integrated partnerships
  • Skillful proposal writing with excellent attention to detail and written English
  • A strong understanding of production regarding print shoots and event-based work
  • Negotiation skills
